The power of Women...Nobel de Paz a la UE??... Your smartphone records your conversations!!!

5:15PM EDT October 15. 2012 - WASHINGTON — Mitt Romney leads President Obama by four percentage points among likely voters in the nation's top battlegrounds, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds, and he has growing enthusiasm among women to thank.

As the presidential campaign heads into its final weeks, the survey of voters in 12 crucial swing states finds female voters much more engaged in the election and increasingly concerned about the deficit and debt issues that favor Romney. The Republican nominee now ties the president among women who are likely voters, 48%-48%, while he leads by 12 points among men.

The battle for women, which was apparent in the speakers spotlighted at both political conventions this summer, is likely to help define messages the candidates deliver at the presidential debate Tuesday night and in the TV ads they air during the final 21 days of the campaign. As a group, women tend to start paying attention to election contests later and remain more open to persuasion by the candidates and their ads.
That makes women, especially blue-collar "waitress moms" whose families have been hard-hit by the nation's economic woes, the quintessential swing voters in 2012's close race.

"In every poll, we've seen a major surge among women in favorability for Romney" since his strong performance in the first debate, veteran Democratic pollster Celinda Lake says. "Women went into the debate actively disliking Romney, and they came out thinking he might understand their lives and might be able to get something done for them."

While Lake believes Obama retains an edge among women voters, the changed views of Romney could be "a precursor to movement" to the Republican candidate, she says. "It opens them up to take a second look, and that's the danger for Obama.

Female voters are a critical part of the president's coalition. Four years ago, he led Republican rival John McCain by a single point among men, according to surveys of voters as they left polling places. The decisive Democratic margin of victory came from women, who supported Obama by 13 points. READ MORE/

Smartphone Apps Now Use Microphone to Record Your Conversations

Paul Joseph Watson
Infowars.com
October 15, 2012

Did you know that many of the apps you download to your smartphone now use your microphone to listen to you and your camera to take pictures of you without your confirmation?
New terms of agreement contracts now being attached to app downloads require users to accept that their cellphones become literal monitoring devices that record conversations and surreptitiously take pictures without the user ever giving permission.
It’s been common knowledge for years that app companies and service providers use GPS technology to pinpoint the location of smartphone users.
However, after purchasing a new Samsung Galaxy Note II and proceeding to download a couple of Android apps, one a social networking app and the other a simple calendar, I was shocked to discover that users are mandated to relinquish every aspect of privacy imaginable in order to download the app.
As you can see from the image above, app companies now demand the right to;
- “Record Audio” – “Allows the app to record audio with the microphone. This permission allows the app to record audio at any time without your confirmation.”
- “Take pictures and videos” – “Allows the app to take pictures and videos with the camera. This permission allows the app to use the camera at any time without your confirmation.”
App companies are also requiring you to allow them to approximate your location, send SMS messages from your phone that cost you money, read your contacts, read your phone status and identity, get “full network access” to your communications (in other words listen to your phone calls), modify or delete the contents of your USB storage, and disable your screen lock (the 4 digit code that password-protects your phone).
Since the vast majority of people simply consent to terms of agreement without bothering to read them, this means that potentially millions of smartphone users all over the world have given app companies and by extension service providers permission to record their conversations and take pictures of their private life.
This has been allowed to pass virtually unnoticed with barely any press attention or privacy debate whatsoever.
Since smartphones are dependent on apps, users are being given the option to either not use them and render their expensive device largely redundant, or submit to have their private conversations and personal life catalogued as if they were trapped inside The Truman Show.

Unemployment Chicago Style!...and Government Employment soars?...La verdad sobre el Debate

Fuzzy Math?: CNBC Describes New Unemployment Numbers as 'Contradictory'

5 Oct 2012

As soon as ex-General Electric CEO Jack Welch fired off a tweet questioning today's just released "unbelievable jobs numbers," the media went into a frenzy talking about how "conservatives" were launching conspiracy theories. Well, that's handy for the media and the Obama campaign, but it's not just "conservatives" who are confused by a full 0.3% drop in unemployment when only 114k jobs were created.

CNBC is as confused as the rest of us:
Job growth remained tame in September, with the economy creating just 114,000 net new positions though the unemployment rate fell to 7.8 percent, the first time it has been below 8 percent in 43 months.
The report presented a slew of contradictory data points, with the total employment level soaring despite the low net number.
The falling jobless rate had been a function as much of the continued shrinking in the labor force as it was an increase in new positions.
On the air, CNBC seemed equally perplexed by the biggest one-time drop in the unemployment rate in 29 years!
ABC News' Chris Cuomo is also skeptical of the numbers.
That "not fixed" tag smells a little like sarcasm to me.
Adding to the mystery is the fact that the U-6,  the longtime underemployment and unemployment number, remained fixed at a dismal 14.7%.
What this .03% drop means (per Ed Morrissey) is that the number of unemployed people dropped by 456,000 when only 114k jobs were created--well below the monthly average, and below population growth. Where did 342k people go to lower the number so dramatically just 31 days before a presidential election? Did they retire, leave the planet, die of old age in the unemployment office?
Moreover, just 30 days before the election, 342K people dropped off the unemployment rolls and lowered the unemployment rate to below 8%--a benchmark number vitally important to President Obama who promised his stimulus would ensure we wouldn’t hit 8%.
Finally, this is the second hinky looking report/revision from the Bureau of Labor Statistics in as many months. Just days ago, 400,000 jobs were "discovered"--almost the exact number Obama needed to have a record of creating more jobs on his watch than were lost.
The Obama-friendly media is rolling out some very convenient talking points, with NPR crowing in its half-hourly news bulletin: "The unemlpoyment rate is now back where it was in when President Barack Obama took office in January 2009." Except it isn't, exactly.
No one's crying "conspiracy" here, but any journalist worth a damn always remains skeptical and looks to connect the dots of counter-intuitive good news released just weeks away from a major election.
ADDED: MSNBC's Joe Scarborough, no right-winger, is also questioning the jobs report

Jobs Number Boosted By Broke Governments

5 Oct 2012

Cash-strapped state governments and the federal government added thousands of jobs in July, August and September, boosting overall jobs numbers. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) announced today that it had revised jobs numbers for July and August upwards, with revised gains coming from public sector jobs.

According to the BLS, government jobs grew 18,000 in July, 45,000 in August, and 10,000 in September, accounting for nearly 17% of total gains. Those government increases reverse the trend of recent years, in which public sector jobs had been cut while the private sector had experienced modest job growth.
The total number of jobs added in September was 114,000, according to the BLS--well below the monthly average in recent years, and far below the July jobs increase, which had been described as good.
Economists had predicted a rise of 111,000 to 113,000 jobs--but that rise would have meant a rise in the unemployment rate from 8.1% to 8.2%.
With the large revisions from the BLS--revising private sector jobs down, and public sector jobs up--the modest rise in September jobs coincided with an unusually dramatic drop in the unemployment rate, causing some experts to greet the new numbers with puzzlement.
Government jobs are an important part of the explanation.

No existe tal deducción.
-Curtis Dubay

Obama's FALSE Fairy Tale!!!...If Julian Castro is their key note speaker...!!! Restaurar el Estado de Derecho en USA?

Fact Check: First Lady's False Fairy Tale of Struggle

5 Sep 2012

First Lady Michelle Obama’s pitch to voters last night relied on the premise that she and her husband understand what it is to struggle to make ends meet. She spoke movingly about their early years--about how a young Barack Obama drove a car that was “rusted out" and found his furniture “in a dumpster,” how they both came from families that had to “scrape by.” Her fairy tale--however well-delivered--was one great, big, colorful lie.

Both Michelle Robinson and Barack Obama began their adult lives with a leg up on the rest of America. They attended elite schools: Michelle went to Whitney Young, the public magnet school for Chicago’s upper class, while Barack attended Punahou, the private prep school for the top stratum of Hawaiian society. They were accepted to Ivy League schools despite undistinguished credentials, and both attended Harvard Law School.

“[B]elieve it or not, when we were first married, our combined monthly student loan bills were actually higher than our mortgage,” Michelle said. That sounds like a raw deal--but in fact reflects their fortunate circumstances. They had both just graduated from a very expensive law school, and their combined income from cushy law firm jobs dwarfed the repayments. Barack also soon enjoyed a second salary from the University of Chicago.

They had expensive tastes, reflected in the $277,500 two-bedroom condo they bought in 1993--a high price even by today’s standards. Several years later, they moved into their $1.65 million mansion in Hyde Park--with the help of fraudster Tony Rezko. Barack often told a story of hardship on the campaign trail in 2008 about having his credit card declined--once. The fact that he thought this counted as real hardship speaks volumes.
As her husband moved onto the national political stage, Michelle Obama began to enjoy a lavish lifestyle at taxpayer expense, directly and indirectly. When Barack Obama was elected to the U.S. Senate, he obtained a $1 million earmark for the University of Chicago Hospital--and his wife’s salary as Vice President for Community Affairs jumped from $121,910 to $316,962. Her job: pushing poor, uninsured patients to other hospitals.

As First Lady, Michelle Obama has lived high on the hog while the rest of the country has suffered through an extraordinary recession. In 2010, she and her entourage decamped to Spain for a lavish vacation. That summer, the Obamas encouraged Americans to visit the Gulf coast after the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, which threatened tourism in the region. They promptly jetted off to Maine for their own summer holiday.
This summer, the Obamas skipped their usual summer trip to the wealthy playground of Martha’s Vineyard--months after Michelle and her daughters had enjoyed an expensive winter skiing trip in Aspen. And, of course, there are the frequent pilgrimages to Hawaii,  Some of their family’s comfort, of course, comes from private income, principally Barack Obama’s book sales--yet even that wealth is a spin-off of Obama’s political career.

If, as the Democrats eagerly pointing out, Mitt Romney enjoyed the privilege of private wealth, the Obamas have enjoyed privilege funded by public money and public life. And until entering the national spotlight, they gave little to charity, contributing instead to a church that preached racial grievance. “[T]ruth matters,” Michelle Obama told the nation last night. That, too, is a lie--because so far, she has evaded it without consequence.

Meet the New Obama: San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro

4 Sep 2012

Democrats are looking to fast track a successor for Barack Obama for 2012 and are looking to San Antonio Mayor Julián Castro to do just that. They're hoping to pattern Castro's ascent into the upper echelon of the party after Obama's, by having selected him as the DNC 2012's keynote speaker.

The similarities between Castro and Obama are many.
Both Obama and Castro seem to ignore obvious facts and pretend or fabricate a new truth. Speaking at a fundraiser in California on Monday night, July 23, Obama said, “we tried our plan (economic policies), and it worked”. It worked if he wanted high unemployment, massive growth in the dependence on government handouts, and regulations that are strangling America’s industries. On the other hand, Castro takes credit for San Antonio’s economic growth while he refuses to acknowledge that Texas’ conservative economic policies are responsible. They both are big on “green energy” even though the market does not support that type of projects. Obama has Solendra, and Castro has recently signed an agreement between CPS Energy and OCI Solar Power. Both men claim that jobs and energy will be created from these green projects. But the free market and economic reality do not support their ideas.
[...]
Then there is the complete disregard both men appear to have for the rule of law, specifically Obama for the U.S. Constitution and Castro for the municipal charter of San Antonio.
Castro and Obama both had radical parents. Castro's mother, Rosie Castro, is described as a "firebrand" and helped to found La Raza Unida. Julián Castro and his twin brother are considered "legacies" of La Raza's mission:
Also among these legacy children: San Antonio Mayor Julián Castro and brother, Joaquín, sons of Rosie Castro, who was also there at the beginning of La Raza Unida. Joaquín Castro is a state House rep and a congressional candidate.
Said Rosie Castro of The Alamo:
"When I grew up I learned that the ‘heroes’ of the Alamo were a bunch of drunks and crooks and slaveholding imperialists who conquered land that didn’t belong to them. But as a little girl I got the message — we were losers. I can truly say that I hate that place and everything it stands for.”
Like Obama, Castro's promises fall short:
When he ran for mayor in 2009, the 37-year-old Castro campaigned on a pledge to reduce crime, saying, “Making our communities safe is my top priority.”
San Antonio’s crime rate, however, has seen only meager improvements since Castro took office. Unsolved murder rates have skyrocketed.
[...]
“Rapes are up 5.3 percent from the previous year, to 492 reported incidents; aggravated assaults are also up 5.3 percent from 2009, to 4,672 reported incidents; and motor-vehicle thefts are up 1.5 percent from 2009, to 5,893 reported incidents,” according to National Review.
Meanwhile, San Antonio’s unsolved murder rate has increased from 24 to 39 percent from 2010 to 2011. READ MORE

Democrats frustrated with Obama...Cambio de Rumbo...Same sex-parenting

Democrats Air Frustrations with Obama 'Cockiness'

3 Sep 2012

President Obama's competitive, boastful nature and condescending advice rubs even loyal Democrats the wrong way, a new profile alleges.

The New York Times' Jodi Kantor airs complaints from "loyal" Obama associates -- not as a buried lede but explicitly in her introduction:
He has mentioned more than once in recent weeks that he cooks “a really mean chili.” He has impressive musical pitch, he told an Iowa audience. He is “a surprisingly good pool player,” he informed an interviewer — not to mention (though he does) a doodler of unusual skill.
The article reports Obama's associates characterize this bluster and political zeal as "cockiness." Further, Washington Democrats say he is all too eager to offer unsolicited advice -- on handshakes, writing, and parenting, among other topics.
For those activities at which he feels inadequate, Obama reportedly dedicates considerable time to practice, no matter how trivial the pastime:
He has played golf 104 times since becoming president, according to Mark Knoller of CBS News, who monitors his outings, and he asks superior players for tips that have helped lower his scores. He decompresses with card games on Air Force One, but players who do not concentrate risk a reprimand (“You’re not playing, you’re just gambling,” he once told Arun Chaudhary, his former videographer).
His idea of birthday relaxation is competing in an Olympic-style athletic tournament with friends, keeping close score. The 2009 version ended with a bowling event. Guess who won, despite his history of embarrassingly low scores? The president, it turned out, had been practicing in the White House alley.
Kantor's piece carries a long-running theme that Obama easily -- perhaps even uncontrollably -- rates and ranks others around him. A 2008 debate gaffe found him flippantly calling Hillary Clinton "likable enough." Of Mitt Romney's 2012 campaign, he asserted, "We're the Miami Heat, and he's Jeremy Lin." Even his own staff are subject to criticism:
“I think that I’m a better speechwriter than my speechwriters,” Mr. Obama told Patrick Gaspard, his political director, at the start of the 2008 campaign, according to The New Yorker. “I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors. And I’ll tell you right now that I’m going to think I’m a better political director than my political director.”
Despite a strong push to negatively define Mitt Romney, Obama finds himself neck and neck with the Republican presidential candidate two months before the election -- even falling behind in some polls. As the November ballot draws nearer, he will need to rely heavily on his personal likability to draw independent voters. The New York Times and allied Democrats airing these grievances, which may reinforce Republicans' charges against Obama as vain and out of touch, is a serious problem for the embattled incumbent.

How different are the adult children of parents who have same-sex relationships? Findings from the New Family Structures Study

  • Department of Sociology and Population Research Center, University of Texas at Austin, 1 University Station A1700, Austin, TX 78712-0118, United States

Abstract

The New Family Structures Study (NFSS) is a social-science data-collection project that fielded a survey to a large, random sample of American young adults (ages 18–39) who were raised in different types of family arrangements. In this debut article of the NFSS, I compare how the young-adult children of a parent who has had a same-sex romantic relationship fare on 40 different social, emotional, and relational outcome variables when compared with six other family-of-origin types. The results reveal numerous, consistent differences, especially between the children of women who have had a lesbian relationship and those with still-married (heterosexual) biological parents. The results are typically robust in multivariate contexts as well, suggesting far greater diversity in lesbian-parent household experiences than convenience-sample studies of lesbian families have revealed. The NFSS proves to be an illuminating, versatile dataset that can assist family scholars in understanding the long reach of family structure and transitions.

Highlights

► The New Family Structures Study collected data from nearly 3000 adults. ► I compare young adults who grew up with a lesbian mother or gay father. ► Differences exist between children of parents who have had same-sex relationships and those with married parents. ► This probability study suggests considerable diversity among same-sex parents.

1. Introduction

The well-being of children has long been in the center of public policy debates about marriage and family matters in the United States. That trend continues as state legislatures, voters, and the judiciary considers the legal boundaries of marriage. Social science data remains one of the few sources of information useful in legal debates surrounding marriage and adoption rights, and has been valued both by same-sex marriage supporters and opponents. Underneath the politics about marriage and child development are concerns about family structures’ possible effects on children: the number of parents present and active in children’s lives, their genetic relationship to the children, parents’ marital status, their gender distinctions or similarities, and the number of transitions in household composition. In this introduction to the New Family Structures Study (NFSS), I compare how young adults from a variety of different family backgrounds fare on 40 different social, emotional, and relational outcomes. In particular, I focus on how respondents who said their mother had a same-sex relationship with another woman—or their father did so with another man—compare with still-intact, two-parent heterosexual married families using nationally-representative data collected from a large probability sample of American young adults. SENIORS LOVE RYAN: WAPO/ABC POLL KILLS DEM NARRATIVE

22 Aug 2012

Ten days after the selection of Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney's national and swing state poll numbers have all trended up. Yep, thanks to a near-flawless VP roll-out, the Romney-Ryan ticket has not only made up the ground Romney lost after six very tough weeks on defense, but in the crucial swing states, Team Romney is in the best shape they've ever been in. Therefore…

The media, obviously, is worried -- especially due to the Romney-Ryan decision to go on offense over Medicare -- a tactical move that has been very successful in calling attention to a fact the media would prefer not to report: That Obama raids nearly three-quarters of a TRILLION dollars from Medicare to pay for the forever-unpopular ObamaCare.
So the media-march has been on to declare the Ryan pick something of a flop and to downplay the energizing effect the Congressman from Wisconsin has had on the GOP base and the electorate in general (for example, photos of the massive crowds the Romney-Ryan ticket draws can only be found in New Media). The Obama campaign and its media minions have also sought to terrify seniors into believing Ryan is some sort of Medicare Murderer, eager to toss old people out in the cold to pay for the one-percents' tax cuts.
Fortunately, old doesn’t equal dumb: [emphasis added]
A new Washington Post-ABC News poll shows 41 percent of Americans view the new GOP vice presidential nominee favorably, while 37 percent rate him unfavorably — slightly improved from last week’s polling.
Among seniors, though, the numbers are even better for Ryan: 50 percent favorable and 35 percent unfavorable. Fully one-third of seniors say they have a strongly favorable view of the Wisconsin congressman, while one-quarter have a strongly unfavorable view.
The numbers suggest Democrats’ attempts to turn Ryan’s Medicare proposal against the GOP haven’t stuck yet among the most pivotal group: seniors. If a Medicare attack was working, after all, seniors would likely be the first group to start deserting Ryan. …
Democrats initially hailed Ryan’s selection as a game-changer in senior-heavy districts and states like Florida, and they’ve been pushing hard the message that it would “end Medicare as we know it” and could lead to an additional $6,000 in out-of-pocket costs for seniors (without specifying that it’s future seniors, of course). Biden: We 'Created 200,000 Brand New Good-Paying Jobs'

22 Aug 2012

Mensa Joe Biden, who has been exiled to solid-blue states where he can do the least damage, said in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Tuesday that Mitt Romney and his allies “sound like squealing pigs”:

In spite of that, in spite of Governor Romney’s insistence to let Detroit go bankrupt, we rescued the automobile industry, saved a million jobs and created 200,000 brand-new good paying jobs. Over the objection – though they sound like squealing pigs – over the objections of Romney and all his allies, we passed the toughest Wall Street regulations in history, turning Wall Street back into the allocator of capital it always has been and no longer a casino, and they want to repeal it.
First Mensa Joe said Romney would put people back in chains; now he visits a farm state and calls Romney a squealing pig. The man has a snake-like way of darting his venomous tongue at the most opportune moments.

As for Mensa Joe’s specious argument that Obama saved a million jobs, and created 200,000 “brand-new good paying jobs",  perhaps someone could remind him of these hard facts: in January 2009, when the Anointed One took office, unemployment was 7.6%, it is now 8.3%; as the Wall Street Journal has noted, "there hasn't been one day during the entire Obama presidency when as many Americans were working as on the day President Bush left office."

Total jobs today are 500,000 less than in January 2009 when Obama entered office; fewer workers are being hired now than during the average recession month between 2007 and 2009; and America has suffered 42 straight months of unemployment over 8%, which the Joint Economic Committee of Congress confirms is the worst recovery from a recession since the Great Depression. The number of unemployed Americans has risen over the last 3 months by 76,000 people.
So, to borrow Biden’s technique of using metaphors, the best way to size up Mensa Joe’s lying while making appearances in a prairie state like Minnesota would be thus: he’s a snake in the grass.

Romney Rising In Swing States: Polls Ahead of Obama in WI and MI

21 Aug 2012

For a while now, and with some off-days, presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney has maintained a small but persistent lead in the two most reliable national polls, Gallup and Rasmussen. Swing state polls, however, have been less kind. Since Romney clinched the nomination, President Obama has consistently led in most of these crucial states, sometimes by wide margins that felt counter-intuitive when compared to the national polls.

Well, whatever caused that -- Obama's spending advantage, poorly weighted polls or both -- the tide is turning and also doing so in two states Obama and his media minions probably felt were pretty safe.
[A] national public opinion polling and voter analytics consulting firm based in Michigan and representing the combined resources of Foster McCollum White & Associates (Troy, Michigan) and Baydoun Consulting (Dearborn, Michigan) conducted a telephone-automated polling random survey of Michigan registered and most likely November 2012 general election voters to determine their voting preferences.
In what will be a significant blow to Democratic campaign efforts, native son Mitt Romney has climbed into the lead in Michigan's Presidential contest.
Obama: 43.88%
Romney: 47.68%
And in my home state of Wisconsin two recent polls have Obama stuck at 47 and Romney ahead by one.
Over the past few weeks in the Real Clear Politics poll of polls, Romney has caught up to or passed Obama in Ohio, Colorado, Virginia, Florida, and Iowa.
The trend is the thing and the trend is all moving Romney's way. Read More

Netanyahu Determined to Strike Iran Before U.S. Elections

21 Aug 2012

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is determined to strike Iran before the 2012 election.  A report from Israel’s Channel 10 news claims that since the harsher international sanctions have yielded nothing from Iran, the time to act cannot be delayed. There was talk that Netanyahu would meet with Barack Obama after the late September UN General Assembly meeting in New York, but that meeting seems to have been scuttled.

In the last week, Hezbollah MP Walid Sakariya said that the nuclear weapon Iran is allegedly developing is specifically to eradicate Israel. The retired general said that, once Iran had nuclear weapons, their use would benefit Syria as well as Iran: “This nuclear weapon is intended to create a balance of terror with Israel, to finish off the Zionist enterprise, and to end all Israeli aggression against the Arab nation. The entire equation in the Middle East will change.” Read More

Democrats in Desperation! Why?

The Distraction Defense: Democrats, Media Desperate to Change the Subject

20 Aug 2012

The surest sign that Democrats know they are in trouble after Paul Ryan's nomination to the Republican presidential ticket behind Mitt Romney is the desperation with which they are trying, desperately, to steer the conversation away from the economy, entitlements, and the Constitution--with the help of the media, of course. This is the substantive debate that President Barack Obama always said he was ready for, and which the media always calls for in high-minded tones, but once it is here they are suddenly trying to change the conversation.

The latest distraction is a side show in the Missouri race for U.S. Senate, where Republican nominee Todd Akin attempted to defend his opposition to abortion and made the ridiculous statement that the female body has a way to prevent conception in cases of "legitimate rape." He later retracted, as he ought to have done. There is room for diversity in the GOP of views on the moral aspects of abortion; there's no room for disagreement on the questions of whether rape is ever welcome or how babies are made. In Newsweek Magazine

Niall Ferguson: Obama’s Gotta Go

Why does Paul Ryan scare the president so much? Because Obama has broken his promises, and it’s clear that the GOP ticket’s path to prosperity is our only hope.

I was a good loser four years ago. “In the grand scheme of history,” I wrote the day after Barack Obama’s election as president, “four decades is not an especially long time. Yet in that brief period America has gone from the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. to the apotheosis of Barack Obama. You would not be human if you failed to acknowledge this as a cause for great rejoicing.”
Newsweek
Despite having been—full disclosure—an adviser to John McCain, I acknowledged his opponent’s remarkable qualities: his soaring oratory, his cool, hard-to-ruffle temperament, and his near faultless campaign organization.
Yet the question confronting the country nearly four years later is not who was the better candidate four years ago. It is whether the winner has delivered on his promises. And the sad truth is that he has not.
In his inaugural address, Obama promised “not only to create new jobs, but to lay a new foundation for growth.” He promised to “build the roads and bridges, the electric grids, and digital lines that feed our commerce and bind us together.” He promised to “restore science to its rightful place and wield technology’s wonders to raise health care’s quality and lower its cost.” And he promised to “transform our schools and colleges and universities to meet the demands of a new age.” Unfortunately the president’s scorecard on every single one of those bold pledges is pitiful. El Gráfico de la Semana: Déficits presupuestarios vs. Exportaciones

Bryan Riley
